Better Public Dental care

Tooth decay amongst children has been getting worse and thousands of men and women across the country are on waiting lists to treat painful dental problems.
So why doesn't Labor do what the UK Labour party did many years ago and ensure standard and subsidised charges for dental care under a public system. Under the NHS, Dental care is subsidised by the state and standard charges apply - for instance a standard examination is 16 pounds, a filling 45 pounds. This is much cheaper than in Australia. Why is it different charges for the same treatments always apply??
Keep Labor's plan for free check ups - but costs have got to come down to make sure people follow through on their checkup.
State governments have traditionally provided the bulk of the public funding for dental care - the federal Government could extend its dominate role of funding in health to ensure better public dental care.
